Palliative Home Program
- Volunteers provide face-to-face emotional support and information
- Partners with Home Care Nursing, Home Support Workers, Cowichan District Hospital,
Canadian Mental Health, and Family Life.
Palliative Hospital Program
- Volunteer coordinators and volunteers visit and support palliative patients and their
families at Cowichan District Hospital, daily.
- Hospice Tranquility garden on the third floor at Cowichan District Hospital
Groups
- Grief reflections group
- Men's group
- Suicide bereavement group
- Youth bereavement group
- Hospice walking group
Spiritual Care
- Hospice volunteers offer non-denominational emotional and spiritual care
- Referrals to community churches, temples and other sources of spiritual support
Vigil Program
- Volunteers will sit in vigil through the last hours of life as needed.
Wellness Treatments
- Bi-weekly wellness clinic offering reiki, therapeutic touch etc.
- Private treatments
Library
- Extensive library available to the public during office hours,
includes information on care-giving, the palliative journey,
grief support, picture books for children
Public Education
- Hospice staff and volunteers are available to speak to community groups on our services
and other topics related to death and grief
- Advanced care planning workshops
